Malaria Prevention

Measures for malaria prevention are protecting yourself against bites from mosquitoes and taking anti malarial medicines. But despite this, public health officials advise adults as well as young children to avoid going to areas where being affected by malaria is a common occurrence.
Current information about malaria can be found from the CDC (Centre for Disease Control and Prevention) and the WHO (World Health Organization). If you are planning international travel, especially to malaria affected areas, you can obtain information regarding your chances of catching malaria in that area as well as the medicines advised for avoiding an attack you’re your doctor or the local health departments.
Mosquito bites can be prevented by avoiding going to areas where chances of being affected by malaria are more, especially if one is pregnant, or quite old or young. Besides, one can make use of bed nets or mosquito netting soaked in an insecticide like deltamethrin or permethrin or sprayed with it. Moreover, one can also make use of flying- insect spray inside homes, especially around areas of sleeping. Even making use of insect repellent, especially with DEET (diethylmetatoluamide) can be effective as a method for malaria prevention.
